Shane Watson: “From a bowling perspective, he is the perfect T20 bowler. He is a wicket-taker but also he doesn’t go for many runs and that is a bowler you want in your team”

Former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson has lavished praise on Shahid Afridi, saying the well-known spinner “is the perfect T20 bowler”.
Shane Watson: “It was very silly and naive of me [that] I didn’t realise that Wahab Riaz could bowl that fast. I said something to him – because he kept playing and missing Mitchell Starc – so I ran past him and said, ‘Have you got a hole in your bat? Because you just keep missing the ball’”

Former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson has revealed that he regrets sledging Pakistan left-arm seamer Wahab Riaz during their famous battle in the quarter-final of the 2015 World Cup.
Shane Watson: “I would have loved to have faced Wasim Akram in a Test match. I would have loved that. Opening the batting with the ball swinging at pace around 150kph each way. That would have been incredible no doubt”
