Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja is not pleased that middle order batsman Iftikhar Ahmed keeps getting out after scoring around 20 runs.
Iftikhar is an integral member of the limited overs squads as it is his job to stabilise the innings after an early collapse or play the finisher role. But in Ramiz’s opinion, he hasn’t been doing his job well enough.
Recently, the 33-year-old from Peshawar played in the 2024 T20 World Cup and made 23 runs in two games at an average of 11.50 and a strike-rate of 100.
“Iftikhar Ahmed gets out after scoring 20,” Ramiz said on his YouTube channel as quoted by PakPassion.
Iftikhar was not selected for the two-Test series against Bangladesh, where Pakistan find themselves 1-0 down after losing the first Test by 10 wickets.
The second Test began on August 30 in Rawalpindi.
