Pakistan seamer Aamer Jamal believes having fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi in the team gives the men in green “an extra edge”.

Afridi is Pakistan’s pace spearhead in all three formats and has developed a reputation for taking early wickets with the new ball.

Jamal pointed out that the 24-year-old is such a pivotal part of the team that the “bowling line-up always revolves around him”.

“I think having Shaheen on the playing side is an extra edge for us because our bowling line-up always revolves around him,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion.

Afridi is currently involved in Pakistan’s two-match Test series against Bangladesh and took two wickets in the first Test, which the men in green lost by 10 wickets.

He was subsequently dropped for the second Test, which began on August 30 in Rawalpindi.

As for Jamal, he was not selected for either match since he is recovering from a back injury.
