
Abdul Rehman: “In spin bowling, we have three options in Usama Mir, Khushdil Shah and Iftikhar Ahmed”

Multan Sultans head coach Abdul Rehman has named the Pakistan trio of Usama Mir, Iftikhar Ahmed and Khushdil Shah as the franchise’s go-to spinners in the ongoing 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Mir has become a regular face in the Pakistan limited overs squads, along with Iftikhar, who also plays the role of a power-hitter and finisher.
As for Khushdil, he has become more of an all-rounder after initially starting off as more of a big-hitting batsman.
Rehman confirmed that the Sultans will keep utilising all three bowlers throughout PSL 9.
“In spin bowling, we have three options in Usama Mir, Khushdil Shah and Iftikhar Ahmed,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
In PSL 9, Mir has taken 15 wickets in seven matches at an average of 13.80 and an economy rate of 7.39.
As for Iftikhar, he has gone wicketless in seven games and scored 112 runs at an average of 37.33 and a strike-rate of 189.83.
Khushdil, meanwhile, has picked up two wickets in seven matches at an average of 24 and an economy rate of 6.54. He has also amassed 46 runs at an average of 23 and a strike-rate of 153.33.
