Pakistan big-hitting opener Saim Ayub is glad to see his childhood friend Khawaja Nafay playing well in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and is praying for his success.
Nafay is playing for the Quetta Gladiators in PSL 9 and has scored 113 runs in five matches, which includes a top score of 60 not out, at an average of 37.66 and a strike-rate of 141.25.
With the 22-year-old having made a strong start to his campaign, Ayub wants to see him continue scoring runs and slowly start capturing the attention of the Pakistan selectors.
“Indeed, he is very talented. He also plays in Karachi with me. I have known him since childhood. He has played very good, I pray for him and I am very happy,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Ayub has also been in good form in PSL 9 as he has amassed 175 runs in five games, which includes a top score of 88, at an average of 35 and a strike-rate of 153.50.
