With the ODI series between Sri Lanka and New Zealand having finished as a 1-1 draw, the focus shifted to the highly-anticipated first Twenty20 International in Pallekele, but to the disappointment of everyone, the match was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to heavy rain.

Sharma spent a couple of hours working on his line and length
Just two days after being smashed for 30 runs, which included four sixes, off one over by Australia all-rounder James Faulkner, India pace bowler Ishant Sharma worked on tightening his line and length with bowling coach Joe Dawes for a couple of hours in an optional practice in Ranchi.

Australia captain Michael Clarke recorded his maiden ODI century against England in style as he led his side to a convincing 88-run win in the second ODI at Old Trafford to give the baggy greens a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
