Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja has slammed Shaheen Shah Afridi, who leads the bowling attack, saying he “has looked like a medium pacer”.
Ramiz’s remarks echo the concerns raised by many about Afridi’s bowling speed, which has noticeably dipped in recent times.
“Shaheen Afridi has looked like a medium pacer,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Afridi recently captained Pakistan in their ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka and England, where he took 10 wickets in five matches at an average of 21.60.
The 26-year-old wasn’t picked for Pakistan’s upcoming two-Test series against Sri Lanka, which will take place between November 9 and 21 in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
Pakistan will draft two fast bowlers into their squad prior to the start of the series.
