Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja has praised speedster Hunain Shah, saying it has been a long time since he has seen such a good death bowler.
Hunain has been in excellent form in T20s this year as he was the joint third-highest wicket-taker in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) with 17 wickets in 10 matches for Hyderabad Kingsmen at an average of 18.41 and an economy rate of 8.57.
He then played for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and finished as the joint-highest wicket-taker with 16 wickets in 13 games at an average of 22.62 and an economy rate of 7.95.
Most recently, the 22-year-old was involved in first-class cricket as he picked up one wicket in Hyderabad Kingsmen Academy’s President’s Trophy Grade-I match against State Bank of Pakistan.
“After a long time, I’ve seen someone who delivers brilliantly in the death overs,” Ramiz was quoted as saying by journalist Saj Sadiq on X.
Hunain was not selected for Pakistan’s T20I series against Sri Lanka and their ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka and England.
He was also overlooked by the selectors for the upcoming two-Test series against Sri Lanka, which will take place in Rawalpindi and Lahore from November 9 to 21.
Pakistan will draft two seamers into their side following the three-day warm-up match between PCB Patron’s and Sri Lanka from November 4 to 6.
