Former Pakistan pace bowler Rumman Raees said batsman Babar Azam doesn’t need any “extraordinary shots” to succeed.
Raees noted that it is encouraging to see Azam return to his original batting style, and urged the 32-year-old to occupy the crease for longer periods, as that leads to him getting more runs.
“Babar has returned to his original style. He doesn’t need extraordinary shots. The longer he bats, the more he scores,” Raees was quoted as saying by PakPassion.
Azam didn’t feature in Pakistan’s recent three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, which the men in green won 2-1.
He did, however, take part in the ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka and England, where he made 118 runs in five games at an average of 23.60.
Next up for Azam will be captaining Pakistan in their two-Test series against Sri Lanka, which will be held in Rawalpindi and Lahore from November 9 to 21.
Pakistan will draft in two seamers into their side after the three-day warm-up match between PCB Patron’s and Sri Lanka from November 4 to 6.
