Pakistan big-hitting batsman Iftikhar Ahmed does not believe it is accurate to describe him as a part-time bowler, particularly given he has taken nearly 300 wickets in domestic cricket.

Iftikhar, who bowls off-spin, said he considers himself a “complete bowler” and has demonstrated how useful he can be with the ball.

The 36-year-old recently represented and captained Khan Research Laboratories in the President’s Trophy Grade-I first-class tournament.

In seven matches, he scored 410 runs, which included a century and two fifties, at an average of 45.55.

He also claimed 16 wickets, which included a five-wicket haul, at an average of 23.81.

“I am complete bowler not a part-timer, I have 300 wickets in [domestic] cricket,” the veteran cricketer was quoted as saying on Facebook.

Iftikhar was not picked for Pakistan’s recent T20I series against Sri Lanka and their ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka and England.

He also failed to make the cut for the upcoming two-Test series against Sri Lanka, which will be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore from November 9 to 21.

Pakistan will add two pace bowlers to their squad after the three-day warm-up match between PCB Patron’s and Sri Lanka from November 4 to 6.

Pakistan Squad for the Test series against Sri Lanka: Babar Azam (captain), Abdullah Fazal, Ali Usman, Arafat Minhas, Azan Awais, Mohammad Abbas, Ghazi Ghori (wicketkeeper), Mohammad Suleman, Mohammad Taha, Razaullah, Saad Baig (wicketkeeper), Salman Ali Agha, Sameer Minhas, Saud Shakeel
