No team will pick him, Tanvir Ahmed blasts Pakistan fast bowler’s fitness and performance

Tanvir Ahmed said no PSL team will pick Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir

Tanvir Ahmed: “Looking at [Mohammad] Amir’s fitness and bowling in the PSL – what kind of ‘talent’ is this? What is the point of such talent when his performance is zero? This is Amir’s last PSL; no team will pick him next year”

Former Pakistan fast bowler Tanvir Ahmed believes no Pakistan Super League (PSL) team will pick left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir next year given his fitness and performance in this year’s tournament.

He noted that Amir wasn’t good enough when representing Rawalpindiz in PSL 11.

In this year’s PSL, the 34-year-old took 12 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 27.16 and an economy rate of 8.81.

Despite picking up a respectable number of wickets, Tanvir was far from impressed with Amir’s campaign.

“Looking at [Mohammad] Amir’s fitness and bowling in the PSL – what kind of ‘talent’ is this? What is the point of such talent when his performance is zero? This is Amir’s last PSL; no team will pick him next year,” he said on X.

Since Amir has retired from international cricket, he was not picked for Pakistan’s T20I series against Sri Lanka and their ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka and England.

Next up for the men in green will be a two-Test series against Sri Lanka, which will take place from November 9 to 21 in Rawalpindi and Lahore.

Two speedsters will be added into the side following the three-day warm-up match between PCB Patron’s and Sri Lanka from November 4 to 6.

Pakistan Squad for the Test series against Sri Lanka: Babar Azam (captain), Abdullah Fazal, Ali Usman, Arafat Minhas, Azan Awais, Mohammad Abbas, Ghazi Ghori (wicketkeeper), Mohammad Suleman, Mohammad Taha, Razaullah, Saad Baig (wicketkeeper), Salman Ali Agha, Sameer Minhas, Saud Shakeel
