Peshawar Zalmi head coach Ottis Gibson said Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Basit is quicker than people expect.
Basit enjoyed great success while playing for the Zalmi during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) earlier in the year.
The 26-year-old from Bahawalpur ended his campaign with 10 wickets in six matches at an average of 17.20 and an economy rate of 7.75.
“Basit has a lovely action, he swings the ball beautifully and is quicker than you think. Most importantly he is very coachable. He listens, he learns and he executes what you ask of him,” Gibson was quoted as saying by journalist Saj Sadiq on X.
Basit was not picked for Pakistan’s T20I series against Sri Lanka, which the men in green won 2-1.
He also wasn’t included in the team for the ongoing ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka and England.
