Iconic West Indies speedster Courtney Walsh said Pakistan fast bowler Ali Raza has “got good raw pace”.
The 18-year-old has been turning heads with his performances, with many believing he is on the cusp of earning a call-up to the national team.
Walsh noted that while the teenager has plenty of potential, he needs to “work on his control” in order to take his game to the next level.
“He’s got pace, just needs to work on his control, but he’s got good raw pace and good action,” he told Geo News.
Raza had an excellent campaign while playing for the Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) earlier this year as he took 10 wickets in five matches at an average of 16.80 and an economy rate of 9.78.
He then represented Pakistan Whites in the National Champions Cup, a 50-over domestic tournament, and claimed one wicket in three games at an average of 76.
The youngster is now involved in first-class cricket and picked up one wicket in Ghani’s President’s Trophy Grade-I match against Khan Research Laboratories.
