Saud Shakeel: “Usman Tariq made his mark in the cricket world in no time, but now batters come prepared against him. Usman will now have to do something different to prove himself”

Pakistan batsman Saud Shakeel has admitted that mystery spinner Usman Tariq needs to “do something different to prove himself”, as batters are now better prepared to face him.
Tariq is renowned for his unorthodox bowling action and consistent wicket-taking ability.
However, Shakeel noted that the 28-year-old may be beginning to lose his element of mystery and must therefore continue developing his game to maintain his impact with the ball.
“Usman Tariq made his mark in the cricket world in no time, but now batters come prepared against him. Usman will now have to do something different to prove himself,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X.
Tariq has been active in multiple leagues this year, including the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and The Hundred.
His most recent assignment was the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), where he picked up 10 wickets in nine matches for the Trinbago Knight Riders at an average of 21.30 and an economy rate of 6.26.
