Steve Smith: “Sahibzada Farhan hits sixes for fun”

Australia batsman Steve Smith has lauded Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan, saying he “hits sixes for fun”.

Smith played alongside Farhan for the Multan Sultans in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where the latter was the joint-highest six-hitter with 23 maximums.

The 30-year-old has arguably been Pakistan’s best T20I player this year, highlighted by his two centuries en route to finishing as the highest run-scorer at the 2026 T20 World Cup.

“Sahibzada Farhan hits sixes for fun,” Smith was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X.

Farhan was not picked for Pakistan’s recent three-Test series against England, which the men in green lost 3-0.

He has been playing domestic cricket and was involved in the National Champions Cup, a 50-over tournament, where he struck 138 runs in three games for Pakistan Blues, which included a hundred, at an average of 46.
