Australia batsman Ashton Turner has praised Pakistan’s Faisal Akram, saying wrist-spinners like him “bring a unique X-factor to the side”.
Turner got to see Faisal in action while playing alongside him for the Multan Sultans during the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
In that tournament, Faisal finished with seven wickets in six matches at an average of 25.71 and an economy rate of 9.31.
“One of the highlights has been the effectiveness of Faisal Akram. That is the nature of wrist spinners – they bring a unique X-factor to the side,” Turner was quoted as saying by PakPassion.
Faisal recently represented Pakistan Gold in the National Champions Cup, a 50-over domestic competition, and claimed five wickets in four games at an average of 45.
Currently, the 23-year-old left-arm spinner is taking part in first-class cricket and began with a total of five wickets in Pakistan Television’s President’s Trophy Grade-I match against Oil & Gas Development Company Limited.
