Shan Masood: “I have shown flexibility and I am open to playing T20I cricket for Pakistan in the middle order. Modern-day cricket demands improving our game and I am trying to do it”

Pakistan batsman Shan Masood has expressed his desire to make a comeback to T20I cricket, saying he is willing to bat in the middle order to do so.
Masood has predominantly played as a top order batter, but his last T20I appearance for Pakistan came in November 2022.
The 36-year-old has mainly featured in Test cricket in recent years and captained the side before being replaced by Babar Azam ahead of Pakistan’s tour of the West Indies earlier this year.
Despite being out of the T20I set-up for almost four years, Masood believes he can still add value to the team.
“I have shown flexibility and I am open to playing T20I cricket for Pakistan in the middle order. Modern-day cricket demands improving our game and I am trying to do it,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X.
Masood’s most recent assignment was Pakistan’s three-Test series against England, where he scored 161 runs, which included a top score of 95, at an average of 26.83.
