England wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Billings has named batsmen Abdullah Shafique, Saad Masood and Yasir Khan as the Pakistan trio to “keep an eye on”.
Billings saw all three in action while playing for Rawalpindiz in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) earlier this year.
“The standard of talent in Pakistan is excellent, as always. Abdullah Shafique, Saad Masood and Yasir Khan are the young players… to keep an eye on,” Billings told PCB Digital as quoted by Geo Super.
Shafique was recently involved in Pakistan’s three-Test series against England and amassed 84 runs, which included a top score of 61, at an average of 14.
Masood’s last assignment was the National Champions Cup, a domestic 50-over competition, and scored 64 runs in three games for Pakistan Whites at an average of 21.33.
He also took two wickets at an average of 34.
As for Yasir, he is currently playing first-class cricket for Pakistan Television in the President’s Trophy Grade-I tournament.
He began with six runs against Oil & Gas Development Company Limited before posting scores of 73 and 20 against the State Bank of Pakistan.
In the ongoing match against Hyderabad Kingsmen Academy, he made 13 runs in the first innings.
