Pakistan batsman Fakhar Zaman: “After the World Cup, I had decided to retire from T20 cricket. However, I no longer intend to retire and want to finish my T20 career on a high note”

Powerful Pakistan top order batsman Fakhar Zaman has announced that he no longer intends to retire from T20Is.

He admitted that he contemplated walking away from the shortest format after the T20 World Cup earlier this year.

However, he decided against it as he wants to “finish my T20 career on a high note”.

“After the World Cup, I had decided to retire from T20 cricket. However, I no longer intend to retire and want to finish my T20 career on a high note,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.

Zaman was not part of Pakistan’s three-Test series against England, where they were crushed 3-0.

Instead, he has been playing domestic cricket and had a brilliant campaign in the National Champions Cup, which was a List A competition.

The 36-year-old finished as the highest run-scorer with 269 runs in three games for Pakistan Greens, which included two centuries, at an average of 89.66.

Currently, he is playing first-class cricket for Khan Research Laboratories in the President’s Trophy Grade-I tournament.

He started off in red-hot fashion, scoring 128 and 77 against Ghani.

As for the ongoing match against Markhor IT Solutions, he was dismissed for one run in the first innings.
