Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan has admitted he is absolutely amazed with the way Australia batsman Steve Smith plays his shots.
Smith is widely regarded as one of the top batsmen in the world and has enjoyed sustained success despite, at times, employing an unorthodox technique.
Farhan got the chance to play alongside Smith for the Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) earlier this year and witnessed the Australian batting maestro accumulate 380 runs in 11 matches, which included a century and two fifties, at an average of 34.54 and a strike-rate of 161.70.
“I’m amazed with the shots of Steve Smith,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X.
Farhan did not get picked for Pakistan’s three-Test series against England, where they were crushed 3-0.
His most recent assignment came in the National Champions Cup, a 50-over domestic competition, where he scored 138 runs in three games for Pakistan Blues, which included a hundred, at an average of 46.
