Pakistan pace bowler Ubaid Shah has revealed that he uses mind games to outfox opposition batsmen.
The 20-year-old has worked hard on adding different variations to his bowling, enabling him to deploy them strategically to surprise batsmen.
Ubaid noted that his efforts have paid dividends, as he has been taking plenty of wickets.
Ubaid, the younger brother of speedster Naseem Shah, got the opportunity to make his Test debut during Pakistan’s two-Test series against the West Indies, where he played one match and claimed two wickets at an average of 39.50.
“Batters have every kind of shot in their arsenal. As a bowler, you have to play with their mind. I have worked hard on bringing variety to my bowling, and I am now reaping the benefits of that effort,” he told Geo News.
Despite getting the chance to play against the West Indies, Ubaid did not feature in Pakistan’s three-Test series against England, which they lost 3-0.
