Legendary Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq said he is glad to see young batsmen like Shamyl Hussain and Yasir Khan playing modern-day cricket.
Hussain and Yasir both showed off their capabilities during the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL), with the former scoring 215 runs in nine matches for the Quetta Gladiators, which included three fifties, at an average of 23.88 and a strike-rate of 146.25.
As for Yasir, he amassed 206 runs in eight games for Rawalpindiz, which included two half-centuries, at an average of 25.75 and a strike-rate of 143.05.
“Youngsters in Pakistan are playing modern-day cricket. Shamyl Hussain… and Yasir Khan. This is excellent for Pakistan cricket,” Inzamam was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X.
Both Hussain and Yasir were not picked for Pakistan’s recent three-Test series against England, where the men in green were demolished 3-0.
