Farhan Yousaf: “Legends don’t just play, they teach”

Pakistan Under-19 captain Farhan Yousaf has hailed Babar Azam as a legend, praising the Test skipper for mentoring teammates while continuing to excel as a player.

Yousaf played alongside Azam for the Peshawar Zalmi during the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL), with the latter captaining the franchise.

In the 11 games he played, the 19-year-old scored 128 runs, which included a top score of 58 not out, at an average of 25.60 and a strike-rate of 152.38.

“Legends don’t just play, they teach,” Yousaf said on Instagram as quoted by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X.

Azam just finished captaining Pakistan in their three-Test series against England, which the men in green lost 3-0.

The 31-year-old missed the 1st Test with a finger injury, but returned for the remaining two matches and amassed 97 runs, which included a top score of 76, at an average of 24.25.
