Usman Tariq: “My bowling action is different and variations are also weird. I keep trying different experiments in every match”

Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq said he keeps “trying different experiments in every match” in order to keep opposition batsmen guessing.
Tariq is among the most enigmatic spinners in the game today, with his unorthodox bowling action playing a key role in his rapid rise and consistent wicket-taking ability.
The 28-year-old has been playing in different leagues lately as he was in action for the Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred, where he took six wickets in seven matches at an average of 26.83 and an economy rate of 7.15.
He then played for the Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and finished with 10 wickets in nine games at an average of 21.30 and an economy rate of 6.26.
“My bowling action is different and variations are also weird. I keep trying different experiments in every match,” Tariq was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X.
Tariq has yet to make his Test debut and was therefore not part of Pakistan’s squads for their two-Test series against the West Indies and three-Test series against England, which they drew 1-1 and lost 3-0 respectively.
