Former Pakistan fast bowler Abdur Rauf believes batsman Haseebullah Khan wasn’t utilised properly in the past.
Rauf sees plenty of promise in the 23-year-old, describing him as an “outstanding batsman” with a solid technique and urging that he be given the right opportunities to flourish at the international level.
To date, Haseebullah has featured in two ODIs for Pakistan, failing to score in either innings, and three T20Is, where he has made 36 runs at an average of 12.
“Haseebullah Khan is an outstanding batsman. He is technically solid and quite experienced in the entire lot of youngsters. He was not used properly in the past,” Rauf said on X.
Haseebullah was not selected for Pakistan’s recent two-Test series against the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago, which finished as a 1-1 draw.
He also failed to make the cut for the three-Test series against England, where the men in green were whitewashed 3-0.
