Saud Shakeel: “I also had to give a salute to Ahmed Daniyal; it is rare to see a bowler hit his mark with such consistency”

Pakistan middle order batsman Saud Shakeel has lauded fast bowler Ahmed Daniyal for possessing the rare ability to “hit his mark with such consistency”.

Shakeel witnessed Daniyal’s skills firsthand while captaining the Quetta Gladiators during the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL).

In four appearances for the franchise, the pacer picked up five wickets at an average of 18.20 and an economy rate of 8.02.

“I also had to give a salute to Ahmed Daniyal; it is rare to see a bowler hit his mark with such consistency,” Shakeel was quoted as saying by PakPassion.

Shakeel is currently involved in Pakistan’s three-Test series against England and has amassed 204 runs, which includes a top score of 97, at an average of 34.

The men in green have already lost the series, but will be looking to conclude the tour with a consolation win in the 3rd Test in Birmingham.
