Abdul Samad: “Misbah bhai used to hit big sixes; I’ve worked quite a lot with him”

Pakistan big-hitter Abdul Samad has revealed that he has worked “quite a lot” with former captain Misbah-ul-Haq, drawing inspiration from the middle order batsman’s ability to clear the boundary.
Samad noted that Misbah “used to hit big sixes”, a trait he hopes to emulate as he strives to refine his own game as a power-hitter and finisher for the national side.
The 28-year-old has featured in six ODIs and five T20Is for Pakistan, averaging 16.50 across both formats.
His most recent international outing came during the three-match ODI series against Australia, where he scored 21 runs at an average of 21.
“Misbah bhai used to hit big sixes; I’ve worked quite a lot with him,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion.
Samad wasn’t picked for Pakistan’s two-Test tour of the West Indies, which ended as a 1-1 draw.
He also isn’t part of the team for the ongoing three-Test series against England, where the men in green are looking to claim a consolation win in the 3rd Test in Birmingham.
