Pakistan left-arm seamer Mir Hamza has praised T20I captain Salman Ali Agha, saying he is a “solid middle order batter”.

Hamza, 33, is particularly impressed by Salman’s ability to build an innings and remain at the crease even when wickets are falling around him.

What sets Salman apart further, in Hamza’s view, is his capacity to contribute with the ball as well.

“Salman Ali Agha has the ability to build and carry long innings for the team. He is a solid middle order batter who can excel in both batting and bowling,” Hamza was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X.

Salman had been playing in the ongoing three-Test series against England and made scores of 21 and 4 in the 1st Test in Leeds before being dropped for the 2nd Test at Lord’s.

With Pakistan having lost both matches, the 32-year-old was among the seven players that were sent home and replaced by seven others, including five who are uncapped at the Test level.

The 3rd Test between Pakistan and England will begin on September 9 at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
