Pakistan all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed said he has hired a coach for himself as he aims to make a comeback to the national team.

In addition to having his own personal coach, the 36-year-old has been working on his game and fitness in order to keep up with the demands of the sport.

Iftikhar last represented his country at the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup, but has been playing domestic cricket.

Recently, he played for the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and struck 62 runs in 10 matches at an average of 62 and a strike-rate of 172.22.

He also took 12 wickets at an average of 19.75 and an economy rate of 7.60.

“I have worked on my technique. I have hired a coach for myself. I work with Zoya Khan in Peshawar. I have hired a trainer for myself. I am working on my fitness. You can see my fitness,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.

Iftikhar was not picked for Pakistan’s recent two-Test series against the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago, which ended as a 1-1 draw.

He also didn’t make the cut for the ongoing three-Test series against England, where the men in green are searching for a consolation win in the 3rd Test in Birmingham, which started on September 9.
