Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha has branded big-hitting wicketkeeper-batsman Usman Khan as the best player of spin in the team.
Usman has struggled for consistency at the international level, where he has primarily featured in T20Is. In 38 matches, he has scored 474 runs, including two fifties, at an average of 18.96 and a strike rate of 121.85.
Despite having had a turbulent time at the international level, the 31-year-old had a brilliant campaign in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL). Representing the Hyderabad Kingsmen, he finished as the fourth-highest run-scorer in the tournament with 389 runs in 13 matches, which included a century and three fifties, at an average of 35.36 and a strike-rate of 162.76.
“We know he is a very good player of spin bowling, probably the best player in our team against spin. We knew his ability and we know it’s going to come soon,” Salman was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
After PSL 11, Usman did not feature in Pakistan’s two-Test series against Bangladesh and three-match ODI series against Australia. The men in green lost to Bangladesh 2-0, but beat Australia 2-1.
Next up for Pakistan will be a two-Test tour of the West Indies, with both the matches taking place in Trinidad and Tobago from July 25 to August 6.
