Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha has expressed high hopes for batting prospect Khawaja Nafay, backing him to deliver strong performances at the international level.

Nafay has featured in just four T20Is so far, scoring 54 runs at an average of 13.50 and a strike-rate of 154.28.

The 24-year-old recently represented Quetta Gladiators in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL), but endured a disappointing campaign, managing 77 runs in eight matches at an average of 9.62 and a strike-rate of 124.19.

Nonetheless, Salman believes Nafay has significant potential and could prove to be a valuable asset for the men in green going forward.

“I hope he performs the way he has been doing in domestic cricket and leagues, and carries that form into international cricket,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.

Nafay wasn’t picked for Pakistan’s ongoing tour of Bangladesh, but Salman is taking part in the ongoing two-Test series.

In the 1st Test in Mirpur, he made scores of 58 and 26, but Pakistan ended up losing by 104 runs.

The 2nd Test got underway on May 16 in Sylhet.
