Pakistan left-arm spinner Ali Usman feels he and other top performers in domestic cricket deserve a chance to play international cricket.
Usman has enjoyed a dominant domestic season as he was the top wicket-taker in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy (QeA Trophy) with 48 wickets in eight matches for Multan Region, which included six five-wicket hauls, at an average of 21.10.
He was then the joint second-highest wicket-taker in the President’s Cup Grade-I (1-Day) with 16 wickets in nine games for Pakistan Television at an average of 22.37.
After that came the President’s Trophy Grade-I competition, where the 32-year-old finished with 25 wickets in four matches for Pakistan Television, which included three five-fors, at an average of 20.32.
“Top domestic performers should get a chance,” Usman told PakPassion.
Despite his strong domestic performances, Usman did not feature in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL), which the Peshawar Zalmi won.
He also wasn’t picked for Pakistan’s ongoing Test series against Bangladesh, where the men in green are 1-0 down after losing the 1st Test in Mirpur by 104 runs.
They are looking to bounce back in the 2nd Test, which started on May 16 in Sylhet.
