Pakistan spin-bowling all-rounder Shadab Khan said returning to international cricket after suffering an injury is “never easy”, as he had to prove himself all over again.
Widely regarded as one of the country’s leading all-rounders, Shadab has the ability to make an impact with both bat and ball.
He showcased this during the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he captained Islamabad United.
In 10 matches, he scored 173 runs, which included a top score of 69 not out, at an average of 34.60 and a strike-rate of 141.80.
He was also the joint third-highest wicket-taker with 17 wickets at an average of 14.47 and an economy rate of 7.02.
“Coming back to international cricket after an injury is never easy. You always feel that pressure because you’re starting again from zero and have to prove yourself all over again,” Shadab was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Pakistan are now playing a two-Test series against Bangladesh, but Shadab was not included in the team.
The men in green suffered a 104-run loss in the 1st Test in Mirpur and are now looking to bounce back in the ongoing 2nd Test in Sylhet.
