Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha believes Khawaja Nafay is a “very good batsman” and an exciting prospect for the men in green.
He added that the 24-year-old’s ability to contribute as a wicketkeeper gives him an added advantage.
Nafay has featured in four T20Is to date so far and scored 54 runs at an average of 13.50 and a strike-rate of 154.28.
Recently, he was in action in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and amassed 77 runs in eight games for the Quetta Gladiators at an average of 9.62 and a strike-rate of 124.19.
Despite an underwhelming PSL 11 campaign, Salman remains optimistic about the young batter’s potential.
“I think Khawaja Nafay is very exciting – a very good batsman. The best thing about him is that he can keep as well. We are very excited for him,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Pakistan are now involved in a Test series against Bangladesh, but Nafay was not picked in the team.
Salman, on the other hand, is part of the squad and made scores of 58 and 26 in the 1st Test in Mirpur, which the men in green lost by 104 runs.
The 2nd Test began on May 16 in Sylhet.
