Former New Zealand fast bowler Simon Doull has heaped praise on Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq, saying he has “got some terrific skills”.
Tariq has quickly become a household name, thanks to his unorthodox bowling action and wicket-taking ability.
The 28-year-old recently featured in the 2026 T20 World Cup, where he claimed 10 wickets in six matches at an average of 14.10 and an economy rate of 7.23.
He followed that up with a stint in the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL), picking up nine wickets in 10 matches for the Quetta Gladiators at an average of 33.55 and an economy rate of 7.55.
“He’s got some terrific skills,” Doull was quoted as saying by PakPassion.
Pakistan are now taking on Bangladesh in a two-Test series, which began on May 8 in Mirpur, but Tariq was not included in the squad.
The 2nd Test will start on May 16 in Sylhet.
