Rashid Latif: “Making fifty runs has become difficult for him”

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Rashid Latif has lashed out at opener Abdullah Shafique, saying “making fifty runs has become difficult for him.”
Shafique has struggled to make the most of the opportunities being given to him, which has raised questions about whether he belongs in the national team.
The 26-year-old recently got the chance to play in Pakistan’s two-Test series against South Africa, but only managed to make 106 runs, which included a top score of 57, at an average of 26.50.
Latif noted that Shafique has to focus on scoring runs instead of getting into verbal spars with journalists, which occurred during the Test series against the Proteas.
“Has Abdullah Shafique seen his own face? Telling a journalist to correct their question. Making fifty runs has become difficult for him. These people neither know how to speak nor have any manners,” he was quoted as saying by TOK Sports on X, formerly known as Twitter.
After the two Tests, Pakistan defeated South Africa 2-1 in both the T20Is and ODIs.
Following this, they took on Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series and triumphed 3-0.
Once those ODIs concluded, Pakistan were in action in a T20I tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, which they ended up winning.
