South Africa fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has praised Pakistan pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi, saying he is “a fantastic bowler.”
Afridi, who is Pakistan’s ODI captain, is renowned for his ability to take early wickets, especially in the first over.
Knowing how much of a threat the 25-year-old is whenever he has the ball in his hand, Rabada had to tip his hat to his Pakistan counterpart.
“Shaheen is a fantastic bowler,” he was quoted as saying by TOK Sports on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Recently, Afridi played in Pakistan’s home series against South Africa and started by taking five wickets in two Tests at an average of 28.60.
He followed that up with four wickets in two T20Is at an average of 17.75 and an economy rate of 8.87.
Afridi then made his ODI captaincy debut and finished with three wickets in three games at an average of 38.
Next up was three ODIs against Sri Lanka, but Afridi could only claim one wicket in two matches at an average of 86.
The tall left-arm speedster turned things around in the T20I tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe as he snapped up four wickets in two matches at an average of 13 and an economy rate of 7.42.
