Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi believes T20I captain Salman Ali Agha needs to boost his strike-rate in the shortest format as it is too low at the moment.

Salman, who replaced Mohammad Rizwan as skipper, currently has a strike-rate of 111.57 in T20Is.

Even though Afridi thinks this is something Salman needs to work on, he still praised the 32-year-old for his performances in ODI cricket, where he averages 43.96 with the bat.

“Salman Ali Agha is a good player in one-day cricket, but his strike-rate in T20 cricket is low,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

In Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against South Africa, Salman amassed 35 runs at an average of 17.50 and a strike-rate of 106.06.

His next T20I assignment after that was a tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, where he made 79 runs, which included a career-best knock of 63 not out, at an average of 26.33 and a strike-rate of 125.39.
