Basit Ali: “Haris has been given everything easily”

Former Pakistan batsman Basit Ali has slammed power-hitter Mohammad Haris, saying he “has been given everything easily”.
Haris has been back in the national team for a few months now and has put up a number of solid performances with the bat.
However, Basit doesn’t quite understand how the 24-year-old earned a recall and raised doubts about whether the selectors prioritised him over more deserving players.
“Haris has been given everything easily,” he said on his YouTube channel as quoted by A Sports.
Haris recently took part in Pakistan’s T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in Sharjah.
In five matches, he scored 33 runs at an average of 6.60 and a strike-rate of 84.61.
The Peshawar native enjoyed a lot more success in the 2025 Asia Cup as he amassed 131 runs in seven games, which included a top score of 66, at an average of 21.83 and a strike-rate of 133.67.
Pakistan will be back in action soon as they will host South Africa for two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs, which will take place from October 12 to November 8.
