Mohammad Haris: “Yes, faster”

Pakistan big-hitter Mohammad Haris has advised batsman Babar Azam to bat faster if he wants to revive his T20I career.
Haris’ comments come after he was asked what changes the 30-year-old should make to his game in the shortest format.
Azam has not been part of Pakistan’s team for their last few T20I assignments, which included a three-match series against Bangladesh in Lahore, a tour of Bangladesh, a three-match series against the West Indies, and a tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan.
With people divided on whether Azam should return to the T20I side, Haris feels the Lahore native will gain more supporters if he starts being more aggressive when batting.
“Yes, faster,” Haris was quoted as saying by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan are now involved in the 2025 Asia Cup, which is taking place in the UAE.
Azam was not included in the squad, but Haris did make the cut and has made 100 runs in five matches, which includes a top score of 66, at an average of 25 and a strike-rate of 136.98.
The men in green beat Oman and the UAE in the group stage, but lost to India as well.
They failed to defeat India again in the Super Four, but kept their Asia Cup campaign afloat with a five-wicket victory over Sri Lanka.
Pakistan’s next match will be against Bangladesh on September 25 in Dubai.
