
Fawad Alam: “As far as Amir’s ability is concerned, there’s no comparison. He is one of the best and the smartest bowlers we have had [in a long time]”

Senior batsman Fawad Alam thinks left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir is “one of the best and the smartest bowlers” Pakistan have had in a long time.
Fawad noted that Amir is head and shoulders above everyone else in the country, saying “there’s no comparison”.
The 33-year-old has been in brilliant form lately and showcased his wicket-taking abilities in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he finished with 13 wickets in nine matches for the Quetta Gladiators at an average of 18.07 and an economy rate of 7.79.
“As far as Amir’s ability is concerned, there’s no comparison. He is one of the best and the smartest bowlers we have had [in a long time],” Fawad was quoted as saying by A Sports.
After PSL 10 ended, Pakistan took on Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, which they won 3-0.
They then travelled to Bangladesh for three T20Is, but were beaten 2-1.
Following this, the men in green took on the West Indies and won the T20I series 2-1 before losing the ODIs 2-1.
Most recently, Pakistan were in action in a T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in Sharjah, which they won.
They are now taking part in the 2025 Asia Cup, which is being held in the UAE.
The men in green started off with a 93-run win over Oman before losing to India by seven wickets.
Pakistan’s next match will be against the UAE on September 17 in Dubai.
