Former Pakistan all-rounder Yasir Arafat wants to see batsman Sahibzada Farhan in the playing XI constantly as he “has been performing for a year now”.

Farhan earned his spot back in the national team by scoring a boatload of runs in domestic cricket.

Since returning to the international level, he has featured in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore, where he made 75 runs in two games, which included a career-best knock of 74, at an average of 37.50 and a strike-rate of 166.66.

As for the tour of Bangladesh, which comprised three T20Is, he hammered 63 runs in the one game he played.

The men in green then travelled to the West Indies and Farhan kicked things off with 91 runs in three T20Is, which included a top score of 74, at an average of 30.33 and a strike-rate of 126.38.

Most recently, Pakistan faced the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in a T20I tri-series in Sharjah, which they won.

Farhan featured in five matches and finished with 63 runs at an average of 12.60 and a strike-rate of 150.

Given the 29-year-old’s brilliant performances, Arafat cannot understand why he isn’t playing all the matches in a series.

“He has been performing for a year now,” he told PakPassion.

Pakistan are now taking part in the 2025 Asia Cup, which is being held in the UAE.

In two matches, Farhan has accumulated 69 runs at an average of 34.50 and a strike-rate of 94.52.

The men in green began their campaign with a 93-run win over Oman before losing to India by seven wickets.

Their next match will be against the UAE on September 17 in Dubai.
