Babar Azam: “Ali Raza bowled really well. He’s a confident player, believes in himself, and always wants to learn from his seniors”

Pakistan batsman Babar Azam said teenage pace sensation Ali Raza is a “confident player” who “believes in himself”.
Raza has become a household name through his extraordinary performances, which has seen him take plenty of wickets in first-class cricket, List A cricket and T20s.
Recently, the 17-year-old played alongside Azam for the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
In nine matches, the young fast bowler took 12 wickets at an average of 25.25 and an economy rate of 9.18.
“Ali Raza bowled really well. He’s a confident player, believes in himself, and always wants to learn from his seniors,” Azam was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Following PSL 10, Pakistan faced Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, but Raza was not included in the squad.
The men in green won the series 3-0.
Raza also wasn’t picked for Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh, which will consist of three T20Is that will be played in Mirpur from July 20 to 24.
