Iconic Pakistan batsman Younis Khan admitted fast bowlers are fully aware that power-hitter Azam Khan is weak against short balls.
He noted that this is the reason why speedsters unleash bouncers against Azam as it has a high likelihood of getting them a wicket.
Younis pointed out this is a trend that has been happening for quite some time and therefore urged the 26-year-old to work on solving this problem.
“Fast bowlers know his weakness and always test him with short balls. It’s become a regular pattern in the PSL and other leagues. He must work on this area quickly or it will continue to be a problem,” he said on Josh Jaga Dey as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
Azam recently played in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and amassed 66 runs in seven matches for Islamabad United at an average of 11 and a strike-rate of 101.53.
After PSL 10 ended, Pakistan faced Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, but Azam wasn’t part of the team.
The men in green won the series 3-0.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, which will be held in Mirpur from July 20 to 24.
