New Zealand opener Colin Munro believes Pakistan spin-bowling all-rounder Shadab Khan is good enough to bat in the top order.
Shadab, who is Pakistan’s T20I vice-captain, generally bats in the middle or lower order for the men in green, where he is expected to hit the ground running and score quick runs.
Recently, he played alongside Munro while captaining Islamabad United in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and amassed 173 runs in 10 matches at an average of 24.71 and a strike-rate of 155.85.
He also took 14 wickets at an average of 16.57 and an economy rate of 7.90.
Considering how handy be can be with the bat, Munro wants to see Shadab promoted up the batting order in the Pakistan team.
“Shadab Khan should bat in [the] top order [in the] Pakistan cricket team,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.
After PSL 10 finished, Shadab represented Pakistan in their three-match T20I series against Bangladesh and scored 55 runs at an average of 27.50 and a strike-rate of 157.14.
Bowling-wise, he claimed four wickets at an average of 16.25 and an economy rate of 7.22.
Pakistan won the series 3-0.
