Ramiz Raja: “The king is middling enough”

Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja has praised under fire batsman Babar Azam, saying he is middling enough balls.
Azam has been experiencing a rough patch for many months, during which he has found it hard to score runs on a consistent basis.
Despite this, Ramiz noted that the 30-year-old is making good connection with the ball when batting, which is always a good sign.
“The king is middling enough,” he was quoted as saying on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Azam was recently involved in Pakistan’s three-match ODI series against New Zealand and scored 129 runs, which included two fifties, at an average of 43.
He then took part in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he captained the Peshawar Zalmi and accumulated 288 runs in 10 games, which included three fifties, at an average of 36 and a strike-rate of 128.57.
After PSL 10 finished, Pakistan faced Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, but Azam was overlooked by the selectors.
The men in green won the series 3-0.
