Legendary Pakistan batsman Javed Miandad has delivered an ultimatum to the national players, saying those who are “not willing to give more than 100 percent for the team” have to be sidelined.
The men in green have not been getting the results expected of them lately as they crashed out in the group stage of the 2025 Champions Trophy after failing to win a single game.
They then embarked on a limited overs tour of New Zealand and were demolished 4-1 in the T20I series before being whitewashed 3-0 in the ODIs.
“Some sensible decisions need to be made and once they are made the board needs to stick to them on a long term basis. Any player or official not willing to give more than 100 percent for the team needs to be sidelined,” Miandad was quoted as saying by NDTV.
Following the New Zealand tour, many of the national players were involved in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), which the Lahore Qalandars won.
Afterwards, Pakistan faced Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series and finally turned their fortunes around with a comprehensive 3-0 win.
