Shoaib Akhtar: “When you make abnormal people captain and let strange people come, then this will happen”

Legendary Pakistan pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar has blasted ODI captain Mohammad Rizwan, calling him “abnormal”.
Rizwan’s captaincy has come under increasing scrutiny following the team’s disappointing results as of late.
The men in green recently hosted New Zealand and South Africa for an ODI tri-series and made it to the final before being beaten by the Black Caps.
They then played in the 2025 Champions Trophy and were eliminated in the group stage after going winless.
“When you make abnormal people captain and let strange people come, then this will happen,” Akhtar was quoted as saying by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan are now playing a white-ball series against New Zealand and were demolished 4-1 in the T20Is.
The two sides are now involved in a three-match ODI series, which New Zealand leads 1-0 after claiming a 73-run win in the 1st ODI in Napier.
The 2nd ODI will take place on April 2 in Hamilton.
