Pakistan batsman Babar Azam: “There is no pressure on me. I am ready for a new day by leaving the past behind”

Pakistan batsman Babar Azam said there is no pressure on him as he continues his battle to get back in form.
Azam has been Pakistan’s most consistent run-scorer in all three formats for years, but lately, he hasn’t been anywhere close to his best.
During the recent ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, he was promoted up the order and opened the batting since regular opener Saim Ayub is out of action with a fractured ankle.
In the three games he played, Azam scored 62 runs at an average of 20.66.
He had more success in the 2025 Champions Trophy as he struck 87 runs in two matches, which included a top score of 64, at an average of 43.50.
“There is no pressure on me. I am ready for a new day by leaving the past behind,” Azam was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Pakistan failed to make it out of the group stage in the Champions Trophy as they lost to New Zealand and India.
Their final match against Bangladesh was abandoned due to rain.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a tour of New Zealand, which will consist of five T20Is and three ODIs that will be played from March 16 to April 5.
