Pakistan batsman Khushdil Shah: “I myself didn’t know how I got into the team because I have been out of favour with the selectors for two years now”

Pakistan big-hitter Khushdil Shah has admitted that he doesn’t know how he got recalled to the national team as he has been “out of favour with the selectors for two years now”.
Khushdil returned to play in the ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, where he made 22 runs in three games at an average of 11.
He also took one wicket at an average of 127.
The 30-year-old did a lot better in the 2025 Champions Trophy as he scored 107 runs in two matches, which included a career-best 69, at an average of 53.50 and a strike-rate of 121.59.
Bowling-wise, he claimed one wicket at an average of 83.
“I myself didn’t know how I got into the team because I have been out of favour with the selectors for two years now,” Khushdil was quoted as saying by Sports Tak.
Pakistan lost to New Zealand and India in the Champions Trophy, which led to them getting knocked out in the group stage.
Their final match against Bangladesh was washed out, meaning they failed to win a single game throughout the campaign.
Next up for the men in green will be a limited overs tour of New Zealand, which will consist of five T20Is and three ODIs that will be played from March 16 to April 5.
